"lights in the dark"

“Lights in the Dark” at Eastern State Penitentiary Museum will be held on Wednesday, November 14th, 6:30 to 8:30. The event will include live jazz music, open bar and a gourmet spread by Barcelona Restaurant. red carpet reception, followed by an awards ceremony to honor members of our community who are leading the way to reduce violence and respond to homicides in our city.

With this fundraiser are hoping to raise seed money to grow the National Homicide Justice Alliance and to build the organization. Our goal for this fundraiser is $10,000. One thousand dollars will go directly to a Holiday Cheer for victims of gun violence. The remainder of the funds we raise will help us to realize activities throughout the year, and develop information systems to reach out to victims.

The National Homicide Justice Alliance (NHJA) was founded in February of 2016 in memory of Alejandro Rojas Garcia, who was ambushed, shot and killed in Philadelphia on January 24th, 2015. Our family met other survivors and began to form an alliance to support ourselves and other survivor families, build our community of survivors and provide information and education. We also work with the homicide unit and other organizations and city departments. Our group is an incorporated 501c3 which is staffed by families of victims and volunteers.
